Anti-corruption
Anti-corruption is a comprehensive set of legal, economic, educational, and civic measures aimed at preventing, detecting, and stopping corruption, holding the guilty accountable, and establishing transparency and integrity in society.
“Corruption is a crime against development, democracy, and justice.”
(Kofi Annan)
Corruption is a word we hear so often that it risks turning into ordinary noise. It is uttered so frequently by various officials, politicians, journalists, and activists that we might soon start seeing it in our dreams as a black hole, for instance. People express outrage over this word in the morning, discuss it in the evening, and then get used to living alongside it again.
But corruption is not an abstract evil.
It is a very concrete hand arbitrarily reaching into your pocket.
It is a hospital lacking what should have been there.
It is a road repaired every year in just such a way that it falls apart again after the first heavy rain.
It is a tender where the winner is known even before the competition is announced.
It is a permit that suddenly speeds up after a “gratitude payment.”
It is public money meant to work for the people, but which somehow starts working for someone’s private interests.
Corruption does not begin with millions in suitcases, but rather where they should never have been in the first place.
It begins where your time is treacherously stolen by compliance with absurd requirements and astronomical fines for failing to meet them, so that you never have a moment to look around and think about something bigger. Your attention is deliberately and methodically blinded by all kinds of unnecessary information.
It begins where a clumsy establishment decides: the law simply does not exist for me.
Corruption is not just a shameful habit or a bureaucratic disease; it is a hideous, foul ulcer on the body of our country, torn open daily for personal gain by the greedy leeches of society.
By the way, it is precisely these brazen embezzlers, who have planted their bloated backsides into expensive chairs, who uncompromisingly destroy our country’s economy.
When rear-guard marauders plunder millions from the budget, tightly stuffing their own pockets, they strike a direct blow in the back of those holding the front line, cynically and criminally weakening the defense capabilities of our Motherland during the bloodiest era of its history!
Countering corruption is a civic duty of every caring individual and an integral part of the mission of the NGO “FACE TO FACE”. It is an essential condition for the existence and further development of democracy.
And in this regard, there must be no compromises with embezzlers. Everyone who dares to trade away the security and future of Ukraine must be scorched away with a hot iron forever!
