Defense
Defense is a system of military, state, and social measures aimed at protecting the country, its territory, population, and independence from external aggression, deterring the enemy, and creating conditions for preserving and restoring peace.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine is the main military formation of Ukraine, designed to protect its sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence, deter and repel armed aggression, and protect the state and its citizens.
There is a limit beyond which words end. There the front begins.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine is not just an army. These are people who took on the most difficult task: to stand between Ukraine and the enemy. While someone is arguing, doubting, postponing until tomorrow, they are holding their ground today.
Behind every form is a person. Behind every chevron is a story. Behind every soldier are those who are waiting for him to return home.
We have to keep this in mind whenever we talk about defense.
Our defenders are not asking for admiration. They need specific support: equipment, equipment, means of communication, medicine, transport, household supplies – everything that helps to carry out combat work and return alive.
Therefore, our position is simple:
Do not glorify the war. To heroize those who stop it.
Don’t take pictures of help. Provide it.
Don’t talk about gratitude. Turn it into action.
We strive to unite people, volunteers, entrepreneurs, public organizations and partners around the specific needs of the Defense Forces of Ukraine. Search for resources, find opportunities, close requests, and be a reliable rearguard for those holding the front line.
Because the rear is also the front.
It’s just that our weapons are responsibility, organization, care and readiness to act.
We don’t know how long this war will last. But we know something else: as long as Ukraine defends itself, indifference is a luxury we cannot afford.
They stand behind us.
We are for them.
And everyone who today does at least something for the defense of Ukraine, with his small contribution keeps a big structure called freedom*
Glory to Ukraine.
Glory to its defenders.
And honor to everyone who helps them endure.
Provision of the Armed Forces is a complex of financial, logistical, medical, food and other measures necessary for the proper equipment of servicemen, maintenance of the combat capability of the army and continuous performance of its tasks.
The army, which only yesterday was learning to survive, today has become one of the most powerful combat forces in Europe. And this is not a gift of fate. This is the result of courage, blood, work, technology and the huge price paid by Ukrainian society.
But a strong army is not only those who carry weapons. Behind every soldier is a huge support system: weapons and ammunition, equipment, communications, medicine, transport, food, uniforms, fuel, repairs and millions of other things without which heroism on the battlefield by itself solves nothing.
War does not forgive empty warehouses.
Therefore, providing the Defense Forces is the responsibility of the entire country.
The main source of funding for the Armed Forces is the State Budget of Ukraine, i.e. money generated from taxes, duties and other state revenues. In 2026, Ukraine will direct unprecedented resources to the security and defense sector; after the June changes, the total resource is about 4.367 trillion hryvnias.
A separate source is the military collection, which citizens and businesses pay. From July 1, 2026, it will be fully included in the special fund of the state budget and directed to the financial support of servicemen of the Armed Forces.
There are other state resources, including customs revenues, as well as international financial support, which helps Ukraine in the conditions of war to maintain stability and direct its own resources to defense.
But there is another force that cannot be calculated by budget lines.
Ukrainian people.
A volunteer who collects funds. An entrepreneur who transfers equipment. A family that buys the necessities for their protector. A community that closes a specific request. A person who gives part of his income to the army every month.
The rear is made up of millions of such decisions.
The state finances the army. The people support the army. The army protects the people.
And our task is to be a part of this chain not in words, but in deed.
We strive to help where the state resource is insufficient or where a quick, targeted response is needed: to unite people and partners, find the necessary resources, support specific units and respond to the urgent needs of defenders.
Because security is not about “buying something.”
It’s about making sure that the person who goes into battle tomorrow has everything he needs to return home.
And as long as they hold Ukraine, we will hold them.
The history of a country’s defense capability is the evolution of its ability to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity. It covers the development of military power, economy, technology, public consciousness and state institutions from the past to the present in order to repel armed aggression.
“Si vis pacem, para bellum” – If you want peace, prepare for war.
(Flavius Vegetius)
Ukraine once believed that security can be guaranteed by paper. The price of this faith turned out to be terrible.
After the collapse of the USSR, one of the world’s largest nuclear arsenals remained on Ukrainian territory. Ukraine voluntarily renounced it, joined the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons and transferred nuclear warheads to the Russian Federation. In response, she received the Budapest memorandum and assurances of respect for her sovereignty and territorial integrity.
In 2014, Russia began aggression against Ukraine. In 2022, it turned it into a full-scale war.
Therefore, today we have to learn a lesson that cost Ukraine too much: national security cannot be based only on someone else’s promises.
Strong diplomacy is needed. International unions are needed. Partners are needed. But the state’s own ability to protect itself should stand above all this.
Because peace without power is a request.
Security without a capable army is a hope.
And hope, as our history has shown, does not stop tanks.
That is why we support the development of Ukrainian defense capabilities – not as a cult of war, but as a guarantee that Ukraine will never again find itself in a situation where its future depends on someone else’s goodwill.
This option, in my opinion, much stronger than the direct “we wouldn’t have given away a nuke – no one would have attacked us”, because it does not allow the opponent to easily break your text with a single historical clarification. He hits on the essence: the state must have its own power, not just someone else’s promises.
The urgent needs of the Armed Forces are the primary requests of the military, to which the NGO “HIV NA VIH” can quickly respond by attracting funds, resources and partner assistance: purchase of necessary equipment, means of communication, technical and medical equipment, transport and household equipment, repair and maintenance of equipment, as well as targeted support of specific military units. Our principle is simple: get a specific request – find an opportunity – close the need.
War does not ask whether it is convenient for us to help today. She just comes and issues the bill.
Ukraine has already proven that it is not only able to withstand but also to create one of the strongest combat capabilities in Europe. But modern warfare leaves no room for complacency. What was sufficient yesterday may be too late tomorrow.
Today, air defense, ammunition, unmanned systems and long-range weapons are officially named among the key needs of Ukraine.
The Ministry of Defense also emphasizes the need to scale up the production of Ukrainian drones and ammunition.
But behind each such point there is not a number in the report.
Someone’s life is worth it.
A drone is eyes and the ability to act at a distance. A means of electronic warfare is a chance not to remain blind and defenseless. Ammunition is an opportunity to respond. Air defense is an opportunity to protect the city. Medical support is a chance to get the wounded out. Transport is an opportunity to deliver the necessary on time to the place where it is expected.
That is why we strive to respond to the specific, proven needs of defense units and forces, combining the resources of the community, partners, philanthropists and businesses.
We don’t need help for a beautiful report.
We need a result.
We want to support the purchase of the necessary equipment, means of communication, unmanned systems, medical and other support — in accordance with current requests and within the limits of legislation. Ukraine is also actively developing its own defense production: according to the Ministry of Defense, the potential of Ukrainian industry allows scaling up the production of drones and missiles.
These are millions of small decisions made in time.
Someone donated.
Someone made it.
Someone was repairing.
Someone was delivering.
Someone taught.
Someone was saving.
And all this converges to one point – so that the Ukrainian military man has more chances to return home.
We do not have the right to wait until a need becomes a disaster.
An urgent need is one that which must be closed before it turns into a loss.
So we will hear, check, connect and act.
Without unnecessary pathos.
Because in war, the best form of patriotism is a timely deed.
Cooperation with the military is the interaction of the NGO “HIV ON HIV” with military personnel, units, volunteers, business and other partners for prompt response to the needs of defenders, attracting the necessary resources and implementing joint initiatives to support the defense of Ukraine.
There should not be a gap between the army and society. between those who holds the weapon, and those for whom it is held, there must be a bridge.
We want to build just such a bridge.
Cooperation with the military for us does not mean coming once a year with gifts, taking a few photos and leaving. This is constant contact, trust, specific work and responsibility for the result.
The Ukrainian army has long ceased to be a matter of only the military. It became the business of the whole society. And the state itself recognizes the importance of the interaction of the Armed Forces with public organizations and the use of the potential of civil society to strengthen defense capabilities.
We strive to build a direct and honest dialogue with the military in order to hear real needs, not to invent them for them.
Help is needed – we are looking for an opportunity to provide it.
Informational support is needed – we help bring the problem to society.
A serviceman or his family needs legal or social assistance — we are looking for specialists and solutions.
There is an opportunity to attract partners – we unite them around a specific case.
Without unnecessary heroism. Without unnecessary noise. No charity game.
We need a system in which the military knows: if he appealed, he will be heard; if there is a problem, it will not be put in a drawer; if you can help, the help will not get lost between offices.
We also see this cooperation as broader than material support. This includes support for military families, assistance to veterans in returning to civilian life, legal education work, cultural and educational initiatives, interaction with communities and partners.
Because a soldier does not cease to be a person when he puts on a uniform.
He remains with his family, the right to respect, the right to be heard, the right to help and the right to know that the society he protects will not forget him when he returns.
We want to be the kind of public organization that does not disappear after the next aid is handed over.
Our principle is simple: the military protects the country — society must protect them from indifference.
And if there is a distance between the front and the rear, we will shorten it by action.
Because true unity is not when everyone says the same words.
This is when everyone does their part of the common cause.
It looks like we can’t find what you’re looking for. Perhaps, search can help.
Reporting on aid to the military is a transparent display of funds, property and resources transferred to the needs of the Armed Forces, which confirms the targeted use of aid, compliance with legal requirements and the openness of the NGO “FACE TO FACE” to the community and partners.
The trust is not issued with a seal. It must be earned — and confirmed by deeds every day.
When it comes to defense, every hryvnia, every item handed over, every agreement and every result counts. That is why reporting for us is not a formality and not a page “to tick off”. This is our response to the people who entrust us with their funds, resources and support.
We strive to be open about what we got, where we went, to whom it was handed over and what result was achieved. Where it is possible to release details without compromising the security of troops and units, we will do so.
Because transparency is not weakness.
Transparency is the discipline of those who have something to show.
At the same time, war has its own rules. Not everything can be photographed, named, published or shown in real time. Sometimes the most responsible reporting is staying silent about details that could harm those we help.
Therefore, we will combine maximum openness with maximum caution where safety requires it.
And now — about something that doesn’t always make it into the reports.
Our team has already done a lot. Much more than we had time to tell.
They didn’t do it for the cameras. Not for likes. Not for a beautiful line in a presentation.
Simply because there is no other way.
We are not used to putting every good deed on public view and talking about ourselves louder than necessary.
If we can help, we just take it and do it.
No fanfare. No self-praise. No theater around someone else’s pain.
But now it’s time to show at least a part of what has been done.
Below we will gradually publish photo and video reports, confirmation of the transfer of assistance, feedback and thanks from the servicemen and units we helped.
Not to say, “Look how good we are.”
And in order for everyone who entrusted us with their support to know: it did not dissolve in thin air. She got where she needed to be.
Because real reporting is not piles of paper.
This is proof that the word “we will help” once became an action.
“Glory to the heroes!” is an official and traditional greeting-response, which is an integral part of the national greeting “Glory to Ukraine! “Glory to the heroes!”
Today, this slogan expresses the deepest respect, gratitude and honor to Ukrainian soldiers, defenders, as well as to all those who gave their lives for the freedom, independence and future of Ukraine. It symbolizes the unity of the nation, the memory of the heroes’ exploits and the indomitable spirit of the Ukrainian people.
“Hero” is a word that cannot be uttered indifferently, without emotion, without pain, and without tears.
Because behind this word is not a bronze on a pedestal or a line in a textbook.
Behind him is a man.
The same one who just yesterday lived her simple life. She loved She laughed. I planned. I called my mother. She hugged the child. She dreamed of returning home.
And then she went to defend Ukraine.
And sometimes it is not she who returns home.
A photo is returned.
Flag.
Order.
Silence, which after that settles forever at the family table.
Ukraine knows the price of freedom not from books. She knows her name.
He knows the bodies of those who gave their lives.
He knows by the blood of those who returned without a leg, without an arm, with a mutilated body,
with pain that cannot be seen through clothing.
He knows with the eyes of those who will never again see the dawn as he saw it before the war.
And he knows the hearts of mothers, wives, fathers, and children who learn to live with an empty place next to them every day.
This is a terrible price. But thanks to her, the Ukrainian flag still flies over us.
We often talk about heroism as something exceptional. It is as if the hero is a person from a different breed.
No.
A hero is an ordinary person who makes an extraordinary choice in the most terrible moment.
Stay.
Don’t retreat.
Cover the other.
Return to the place from where you already want to run.
To go forward when every cell screams: “Live!”
Ukrainian heroism is not love to death.
This is the love of life.
To the lives of their children.
To the native land.
To the language with which my mother once said the first word.
To the home to which you want to return.
To the freedom that no one has the right to take away from us.
Our soldiers do not give their lives for an abstract map.
They give it so that Ukraine remains free.
For the child’s right to wake up in his own country.
For the right to speak Ukrainian.
For the right to love without the permission of a foreign state.
For the right to be owners of their own land.
And therefore it is impossible to simply bow your head before them.
Before them, you need to live life so that their sacrifice does not turn out to be in vain.
Do not betray.
Don’t forget.
Do not exchange freedom for convenience.
Don’t let the lie call the feat a “wasted loss.”
We will remember those who did not return.
To honor those who returned from war with serious injuries.
To support those who learn to walk, work, laugh, and build the future anew every day.
Because life after the front is also a front.
And every veteran who gets out of bed, picks up a prosthesis, goes back to work, hugs a child and starts all over again — continues his struggle.
We will not allow them to be remembered only on holidays.
Let’s not allow the Hero to become a photo on a stand that is passed by every day.
Heroes are not a thing of the past.
Heroes are our responsibility to the future.
And when we say:
GLORY TO THE HEROES!
are not just words.
This is a promise.
Remember.
Honor.
Support.
Do not betray.
And to protect Ukraine, for which they gave the most expensive – their own lives.
Let everyone who looks at the Ukrainian flag remember:
this flag has a price.
The price of tears.
The price of blood.
The price of lost limbs.
The price of health.
The price of lives.
And that is why we have no right to be indifferent.
Glory to those who hold Ukraine.
Glory to those who returned.
Glory to those who will never return.
Glory to the Heroes, thanks to whom we can call Ukraine our own.
Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the heroes!
